Home Inspections in Costa Rica

As a Realtor with nearly 30 years of experience, I've attended a lot of home inspections, so I know what a thorough inspection looks like. This was my first time working with Alex, and I was very impressed. Alex and Maria were both professional, knowledgeable, and extremely thorough throughout the inspection. The report clearly differentiated routine maintenance items from legitimate safety concerns, making it easy for my buyers to understand what really mattered. One thing that really stood out was that Alex schedules a follow-up Zoom call with the buyers to personally walk them through the report and answer any questions. Stripe inspected our home last month and did a wonderful job! Very detailed view of the property, electrical, and water systems. This was far better than other inspection reports that we’ve received in the US or Costa Rica. The drone provided a good roof view while sewage cam identified some roots that had broke the pipes. Great job! Highly recommend.

I have had the opportunity to have Alex Stripe inspect 3 homes for me. His inspections are extremely thorough. He included a drone inspection of the roof and put a camera into the septic system as well as inspecting everything in the house. He provided detailed written reports as well as face-to-face online explanations of all of his findings, with valuable advice about which problems were a real concern, and opposed to minor issues. He saved me from purchasing a house that looked nice on the surface, but was a disaster underneath. He provided services promptly and was reliable in showing up exactly on time. He was very pleasant to deal with. Highly recommended!

We recently hired Stripe Signature Home Inspections Costa Rica for an inspection on a villa in Playa Avellanas, and were impressed with the quality of the work. The report was thorough, clearly organized, and easy to understand, with photos and explanations that helped us identify both urgent safety issues and routine maintenance needs. Reaching out to Alex was the smartest thing I did in the home buying process. The first thing he noticed saved me thousands easily. The drone photos revealed entire roof needed replacing and it was supposedly a new roof. Ended up with a 40 page report with pictures and what’s needed to correct the problems. The thermal imaging was also key, it found water leaking into the home that was unnoticed by the naked eye. I highly recommend calling Alex to take care of you home inspection.

Alex was incredibly professional and thorough in his inspection of the property. He answered all our questions in a professional and detailed manner. The report and photos were especially helpful as we had not physically seen the property other than the listing photos. His inspection included all areas that are standard in the states and also explained how standards are different in Costa Rica. His follow up was exceptional, checking in with us after our meeting to see if we had any other questions. We did not end up purchasing that property but will be using Alex again when we find the right one. I would not hesitate to recommend Stipe Home Inspections.

Extremely pleased with Alex's inspection. I've hired 7 inspections in the states and now 1 in Costa Rica. Alex blew the US guys away (he used to do inspections here). Buying a house out of the country is extremely nerve-racking. I'm reasonably handy but an unfamiliar climate means there can be issues I'm not familiar with. Alex did an amazing job explaining everything - it gave us a lot more confidence in proceeding with buying our first place in Costa Rica.

We recently purchased a home in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, and were extremely pleased with the professionalism and attention to detail provided by Alex and his team. We had contracted a new build, and closed remotely before seeing everything completed in person -- not the ideal situation. But, we worked with Alex to inspect the home before closing, and the detailed report that they produced put our minds at ease. They produced a thorough summary that outlined all the items that needed to be fixed by the builder. The report was easy to understand, and Alex took the time to explain anything that we had questions about in detail. We used Stripe Signature Home Inspections to inspect a condo we had under contract in Playa Ocotal. We were under a tight deadline. Stripe was able to perform the inspection (on a Sunday morning!) and provide the report in a timely manner. What we especially liked was that the inspection was done using North American standards. The team was incredibly professional and thorough. We feel that we had all the information necessary to make an informed decision.
